My laptop won't start

Hello, my laptop won't turn on and I get a black screen where I write: Intel UNDI , PXE-2.1 (build 082 ) Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation This Product is corvered by one or more of the following patents: US5 ,307,459, US5,434,872, US5,732,094, US6,570,884, US6,115,776 and US6,327,625 Realtek PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller Series v2.25 (090106) PXE-E61 : Media test failure, check cable PXE-M0F : Exiting PXE ROM. Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key. Please help me because I have important documents there.

Sounds like it is attempting pxe boot and cant find network.

There should be a bios setting to stop that.

You haven't bothered to tell us the exact make and model of the machine.

Are you at home or under a corporation network?
It can be that the main drive has failed and it's trying to boot from the network.
