My New Rig

Well, after 18 months of waiting... my inheritance is paying out, so I am putting myself together a new rig. Time to get rid of this clunky old thing (which was supposed to do 6 months... and has lasted 3 years with a couple of upgrades)

Would be glad to hear any feedback, or anything you think I've missed/overlooked:

Oh, and before anyone says I forgot an SSD That's deliberate, IMO I can't justify paying that much for so little storage space.

For less than a 100 usd to not throw a ssd into a new upgrade is a shame. Leave your data and all games on the spinner but OS and programs get loaded on the flash. It is without a doubt the single most transformational device upgrade you can do. Sure back when 40gb's ran $250 it was a tough call but to get a 64gb sata III for 110.00

Looks good severedsolo for about £15.00 more you can get a Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 64MB Cache Hard Disk Drive SATA 6 Gb/s 126MB/s <4.2ms 7200rpm - OEM which have a 5 year warrenty + the green ones have been prone to failure in the past.

Have to agree about the SSD. It's not about storage space, it's about the OS speed boost. Otherwise, looks like a good build. A Guy

Yes, you don't get a ton of space, but it's fast and it makes a very noticeable difference. I've yet to find a person who upgraded to an SSD and regretted it. The only regret i have heard is, "I regret not getting an SSD sooner".
