My PC deactivated itself

My HP came with W7 Home Premium. I cleaned my HD and downloaded W7 Home Premium with SP1 and activated it with the key on the side of my PC. It activates itself for a few days and then deactivates itself.

Is this normal?

Before when I did the "diskpart" thing I had a copy of W7 and SP1 on a USB Drive, I activated it and then did the SP1 and it worked fine.

2) COA SLP: This is the Product key that you see on the sticker on the side of your computer. It's a valid product key, but should only be used in limited situations. The key does require activation, but you must Activate by Phone.

If your sticker says Home Premium and the disk is Home Premium SP1 then the product key wont register. You'd need to use a Windows 7 Home Premium disk without the SP so the key would match the version! Try downloading a standard Home Premium and activate it, should work as they would then match up! Hope that helps!

Activating by phone would be easier.

No, that's not true. The keys work on all SP levels. I've had several Dell and HP systems that came with Windows 7 pre-SP1, and have done clean installs on them with the SP1 media, and activated using their OEM keys.

yeah my original technet keys work fine on SP1.
