So, I just now got my VGA cable and plugged it into my Monitor, then my laptop. So I go to screen resolution where it shows 2 screens, and click "extend" but whenever I do that and apply it, my monitor just shows my desktop picture. I tried every single resolution. Still nothing anyone know what to do?

Do you mean mirror the displays? so both the screens are showing the same input?

Or for the displays to do 2 different things like is:

your spec says 'Antivirus AVG & MSE'. Should only use one or the other. Two together ain't recommended.

Monitors - try Windows key + P : this lets you select mirror, extend etc. see pic
