I have a Toshiba Satellite A105-S2001 running Windows 7 Ultimate-32.
•CPU is Intel Celeron M processor 1.69 GHz
•GPU is the dreaded ATI Radeon Xpress 200m IGP.

-Every single driver I've found for this video card will either not install at all, or will install but won't support the PCs native resolution (1280x800).
Instead, in the screen resolution menu, the "recommended" resolution is 1920x1200

Also, in the Catalyst Control Center under Monitor Properties everything says "Not Supported"

-A few seconds (sometimes a few minutes) after I power on the laptop, the screen goes really really bright. Yes, even at the BIOS screen. Yes, even in SAFE MODE.

When I connect a VGA cable to my TV/monitor from the laptop the picture is perfect.

I've narrowed down the backlight issue to either the LCD backlight itself, the inverter, or the LCD ribbon cable. I have a new inverter on its way, but after crawling the web for several weeks I've come across a couple of pages where people with the same issue have replaced their inverter with no luck.

I'm thinking these two issues (Screen res/backlight) might be tied together if the LCD ribbon cable is the culprit.

 Any advice/help is greatly appreciated

I'll be sure to post a solution once I find one

Cheers
