Solved Navigation Pane Hack

Hello to all good people of SevenForums.
First I wish to express gratitude for all your knowledge sharing, and you help me million times when I encounter some 'problems' with my OS (Windows 7 U x64). So:

I have question for you dear members:
- Recently I purchased the new version of TuneUp utilities and after installing i got displayed disk devices in my navigational pane. I don't like that so i want to reverse settings like before were was only under my computer displayed hard disk devices.

Can you help me: -how to do that?
I tried with folder properties(show/hide empty drives), also hide items in navigation pane but no luck.
also i tried registry snap - but it was to plenty things for my understandings, also i tried Windows 7 navigation pane customizer - and it works until you don't load explorer again?
Please, What I must do(except uninstalling of TU off) to get my navigation pane without disk drives?

Hello sunnydays, and welcome to Eight Forums.

This sounds like you could turn on the hide empty drives option to not see them in the Computer window anymore until you insert a disc.

I follow that thread, but it last only until window is open again (it's a same thing like with np customizer -hide/show folders in navpane).
I think must be one same key somewhere more inside registry for 64bit Windows. (similar like for show/remove network from the navigation pane - HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\..... + HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Wow6432Node\Classes\CLSID\.....)
and that key returning back settings.
If anybody know where to search please respond.

In that case, it sounds like TuneUp Utilities is overriding the setting in Windows. You'll need to check for this setting in TuneUp, and set it to not show empty drives.

My suggestion is to not use any "tuneup" software. They generally cause more problems then they fix.

O.K. People, I fix the damn thing -> Just unistalled a tuneup(Rolled back to 2010 version)!
Tried everything, even edited registry keys, but no results.

I agree, but I have some working manners like:
daily - CCleaner, weekly- Eusing Free Registry Cleaner + TuneUp OneClick, monthly: TuneUp! And that is all I use. (I know that I can do a lot of things with Windows it's self, but I have practice with it.)

And using that software will mess up windows. Guaranteed. Its not a matter of if, but when.
