I recently had to reinstall Windows 7 home premium x64 due to HDD failure ever since then I've been getting error messages stating NCIS installer error seemingly randomly threw out the day. I am not trying to install anything when this happens. I've scanned my computer with multiple programs but still get the error. Could this be caused by a virus or other malware I have not detected. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you post a screenshot of the actual error, please?

It may be as simple as removing the program that you installed using NCIS and reinstalling it. Does the error message tell you what program failed to install properly?

Thank you for your prompt response. I recently ran the ESET Online Scanner the scanner found and quarantined several malicious files. Ever since that I have not gotten the error.
