Hey guys, this problem isnt much of a BIG problem but I want my default start orb back, I never knew it replaced a SYSTEM File and when i used Windows 7 Start Orb changer to restore my start orb it stopped working, from that day on I kept trying, trying and trying. You guessed it, didn't work :/ So then I looked it up and said it replaces explorer.exe so i looked into the windows folder and found it and found: NO BACKUPS! I tried sfc /scannow (Doesn't work) Using msdos to restore it (doesn't work) so the only thing that I thought would work is someones WINDOWS 7 32-BIT EXPLORER.EXE (nothing else) I hope you guys can help
-Thank your Refz1234

I would ask the moderator to move your post here:
http://www.sevenforums.com/customization/

Those guys have likely run into that before.
A restore point from before the change should fix it. But if you don't have one, I would ask to move your post as I suggested.

Welcome to the Seven Forums

To properly change a system file you need to take ownership give yourself permission and rename the old file and then copy in the new one look at Post #6 of this thread will tell you how to do it http://www.sevenforums.com/customization/179502-basic-networking-information.html#post1525656

Bongo, I am having no success with this download. It downloads as a bittorrent and opens a bittorent app on my system. I tried the Take Ownership route, and got an error about administration rights. Right clicking on the file does not give the admin rights choice. It only gives the Open..., ..., Properties. So, what now?

That download shouldn't be appearing as a torrent download. You might have some software registering all links as torrents. If you don't use the torrent client, I'd recommend you uninstall it, and then using CCleaner after.

If that still doesn't work, you might have some virus of some sort. I'd then recommend a scan with free Malwarebytes and using an AV such as MSE.

First custom build, saving up for a GTX770!
Nah, everything is good. The download appears as a torrent file to be downloaded, but when I right click, and choose "Take Ownership", it works as normal. It didn't solve the problem, but I was able to run it. Thanks for the reply.

No sound

I have a Compaq SR2023MW that I upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate from XP. Before installing the upgrade, I had the PC scanned with the Windows Upgrade Advisor tool, and found that there were only a couple of programs thatwrere incompatible. No hardware, or driver issues. I completed the install, completed all of the available updates, and now, there is no sound from the speakers, or headphones, although the GUI in the taskbar says that the speakers are good. I run the "configure" program, test the speakers, I see the "waves" as if there was sound coming out, but no sound. I have a wallpaper from Personalization Gallery that makes water sounds when the computer signs on, or off. No sound.

So, what is that? All of the H/W is installed from HP. Nothing has been added.

Have you contacted Brink about this issue? Have you run a "sfc /scannow" already? When you get in try to open a CMD box, as Administrator. Type in "sfc /scannow" (minus quotations), hit enter, and let it run. There could be some files that are corrupted as deep as your HK** files. "Scannow" is a first line of defense sorta, to find, and fix, them.

If that doesn't work, I suggest Brink again. 'That guy's good'....
