I'm running Win 7 x64 and a startup manager called Soluto. One of its features is that it tells me how much time a particular service or program adds to my boot time. It also allows you to delay a startup object, or pause it altogether so that it doesn't load at startup. Seeing that things are taking so much time, I opened Soluto and found that there is something called a ".Net Optimize" object which is adding a whopping 119 seconds onto my boot time.

Now Soluto separates startup objects into three categories: 1) Easily and safely removed, 2) Remove only if you're sure of what it is, and 3) Soluto cannot modify the object's startup time. Not only did Soluto have no information on this .Net Optimize, it was in the third section so I couldn't get rid of it. Subsequent searches on the internet have yielded nothing and this object has never been on my computer before. Does anyone have a clue as to what this is and how I can get rid of it? A/V and anti malware (Avast and Iobit Malware Fighter)show nothing is wrong and a search of my computer comes up empty handed...which really makes me suspicious of its intent.

I would remove Soluto from my computer and I would use REVO to do the removing.

I would remove Soluto from my computer and I would use REVO to do the removing.

I would agree with that. I found Soluto gave me very variable boot times.

I would remove Soluto from my computer and I would use REVO to do the removing.

Perhaps you misunderstood me. I tried searching my computer for this file or app or whatever it is and nothing came up. If I can't find it, I can't use Revo to uninstall it:cry:

Whisperss,
You don't need Revo to delete Soluto, just go into the Control Panel and use Programs and Features then click on Soluto and delete it.

Sounds to me like Microsoft .NET Framework NGEN service; delayed start then can sometimes do some sort of cleanup activity, then it stops again. If that's it then you have nothing to worry about. Other than the usual terror that MS' mysterious services strikes in our hearts from time to time (less often thankfully as I get older). ;)

Is there a program that resembles this in your startup programs? - check in msconfig. For a test, you may want to disable all startups and see what happens.

PS: Nothing wrong with Soluto. I have used it many times. A good tracking tool.
