Solved Need help in moving the System partition to a different Hard disk

I explicitly selected F drive for XP installation but it still showing C drive for XP

If you now select windows xp it starts easyldr1. That still shows a menu? It should automatically load winxp from F.

I need to select D not F as the System partition is D . Selecting D in EasyBCD for WinXP worked like magic with out any issues. I have removed the Disk0 and it is working fine in all respects. Thank you @Katku and @Greg for all your advice and guidance. @Katku you are really very helpful in solving this issue. am planning to close this thread now. Thanks once again for all your support.

Google to find: migrate os to ssd/hdd---simplest way.
Cloning is also ok. there are also lots of software able to do this. such as a freeware aomei backupper. support clone system partition...

Yes you can find many solutions and for some of them you have to pay for it. You can't trust everything in google and you can't afford to make your system unbootable, loosing data and going for extensive process of backing up Data , restoring your installation using installation disks etc....

Also my problem was little messy with a inert operating system sitting in the system partition, having dual boot windows OS. I got a very straight forward solution which worked like magic for me without going through any painful process.

It would be interesting to hear from others if they also get their F8 System Recovery Options link back when using Bootmgr - Move to C:\ with EasyBCD - Windows 7 Forums as it appears changes were made so that this is included now. If so we may be able to replace Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times.

Greg you told me at least 3 times the recovery environment entry wasn't moved by easybcd move bootmanager. As far as I know easybcd doesn't touch the entries like winpe, winre, boot from iso, special linux entries, special winxp entries. Only bootmgr entry itself and memdiag are copied to new volume and changed in new bcd accordingly. I hope I'm correct.

For five years EasyBCD did not rewrite the F8 System Recovery Options hotlink. I know this was the case as late as last year when Wolfgang wrote the tutorial and I asked those who were using it to check if they had F8 Repair choice afterwards.

This was discussed awhile back when its author Mahmoud visited here and indicated he would try to correct it. Until then I didn't feel it was a good idea to suggest Easy for moving boot files if it didn't restore F8 Repair menu since consumers depend upon it.

This is the first I've seen that EasyBCD now does the job fully, so if it can be confirmed I will happily link it when Users have the luxury of running a program from Windows to do this. If EasyBCD makes a boot disk to do it then it might also work for unbootable Win7 and I will gladly add it to Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start.
