I have to go to a potential bosses house this weekend to fix his computer, he said it will not start normally or start in safe mode, I have thought that possible it has alot of spyware or a virus on it, I need to live boot some os to scan his drive to check it. Can anyone point me to any good programs? I mostly use spybot to search for spyware and avast and avg for viruses, I have already thought of the all mighty fix all of reinstalling the os but i do not know if he has files on the drive he needs backed up. Any pointers ideas or good software would be a huge help. Thanks.

For starters I'd definitely use Malwarebytes instead of Spybot. Sadly Spybot is but a shadow of its former self and should really be retired. If the machine in question is indeed seriously infected you could run Windows Defender Offline. Heres a link to a tutorial on how to do that : http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/166445-windows-defender-offline.html

Hope this helps!

The only bad thing about that is the computer will not boot, i was told it blue screens while trying to load, and it does the same thing when trying to go into safe mode. So I have to do a cleanup threw a live cd of some sort to see if i can even clean up the problems. I just do not know what live cd would have malwarebyte, and this is what I need help in.
