Well there isn't really a current situation; I'm trying to have a universal repair disc for any Windows installation. And it turns out using Shift+F10 skips to the recover console, so it all works.
Oh, if there is some universal repair disc for fixing any version of Windows with something similar to sfc (replacing any corrupt Windows files) and bootrec (fixing boot), please let me know!
