My Computer has windows 7 installed on it but there is no windows 7 option in the compatabilty list the latest version is Windows vista service pack 2...
please i really need to run a programs using this method because due to unforeseen circumstances it seems to be the only way Skype is working at the moment. :cry:

I shall check for updates on Skype constantly..
and i have also updated my computer just 10 minutes ago and nothing has changed i shall try to reinstall Skype fully now like take it completely off and put it completely back on before i only ran the repair and everything seemed okay till i tried to open Skype.
Ty for answering back so soon i shall keep you updated on my situation but please if there is any more advice i would be grateful!

i have reinstalled Skype and still i have no avail it opens to the log in screen then about 10 seconds later it crashes i can give you the error report if you would like but i'm not to sure how much help it will be to you..
Also "Windows is up to date" so as of the new release im not too sure of what your talking about..

Did you download the latest?
It is 5.3.0.116 and it fixes the problem you are having.

i have tried what both of you have told me to do but still no avail i'm starting to get really annoyed at how my computer is stuffing up i need Skype to work for my business...
please i really need help on the matter i have version 5.3.0.116 it still is not working i tried what you posted rbeldua and i honestly thought it would work but still i'm having problems *Sigh please i really need help on this matter

Ok for the moment i have installed Skype version 4 on my Pc and that seems to be working fine
I got it from Filehippo... anyway ill install a later version of Skype at a later date in hope that it will be fixed completely by then thank you all so so much for your help.

Compatbility Modes are for prior OS's, not Win7.
