I am running a Windows 7, 64 bit machine. I am having a problem with my context select and I am hoping someone here can shed some light on the situation. The problem I am having is new and the way I am trying to get my context set up is the way I have had it for the past...20 years? In short, this has never been a problem I have ever had to think about, but, alas, now I do. Here is my situation.
I have a three button mouse. The left button is set for single click as per normal. I have the right button set as a double click. Always have and it works for me. The middle button (the wheel) is set as my context select button. What I want to do is hit the middle button on my mouse (opening the context window) and have the option to play a music file. My music player is WinAmp. Picture one show what happens when I do what I just described. Note, there is no play option.
Next up, I open that folder and the picture shows what happens when I hit the middle button on a given file. Note I have the 'Play In Winamp' option.
That is not surprising. Here is why. This picture shows my preferences for WinAmp. Note that for 'File Context Menu', Play in Winamp is highlighted. But, under 'Folder Context Menu', it is NOT highlighted. So, in the next photo, you see I have now highlighted it.

[FONT="]Problem solved? Well, not so fast. Here is my situation. For some reason, if I right click on that same file, rather then opening it as per a normal double click, it defaults to the context option and 'plays' the file. Why does right clicking (again, that is set to double click on my mouse) initiate the top option in my context menu....but it does NOT open the context menu window. Does that make sense? I have tried to edit the Registry files via Regedit, but all that does is place the 'Play In Winamp' as the top option, and thus get me back to where I was (in essence, it does the same thing as it does when I do this via the WinAmp options as discussed above). How do I fix this? I want to add, this has N[FONT="]EVER been a problem before. What I want to do I have had as default for years. I am not trying to accomplish something that is [FONT="][FONT="]impossible[/FONT][/FONT]. I just don't understand how to 'do it[FONT="]', though in the past, it was just done with no tweaking needed by me.....very confusing......[/FONT][/FONT]
