My wife has a new laptop coming Monday and I have a NETGEAR WNDR3400 router I plan to use for it and my desktop but, don't really know anything about how to do it. :o Can the router be hooked up to the internet now, so it will be ready when the laptop gets here on Monday? I don't have a driver disc for the router. Thanks for all help! :)

I think I have the router setup correctly on the wireless security settings, it's set to WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES should this keep anyone from using my internet that lives near by? because I have bandwidth limits and I'd sure hate to run into trouble there. I'm also using the default ssid should I change that or does it matter for security? Thanks! :)

I would

- only use WPA2 (WPA is less secure)
- disable WPS
- set a long and complex password for the Wi-Fi
