I just set up my new computer 2 days ago and already messed it up. I guess I'll just tell you guys exactly what I did and see if you can help me. Because I bought an SSD for this build I wanted to get to my desktop fast. And because I'm the only person that uses my computer I thought it would be a great idea to set it up to automatically log me on at start up. I used this guide to do that. But I think this caused my user profile to be set to guest status, and now I can't make it admin again. I tried booting into safe mode and using the admin account to undo what I did but it didn't work, and it didn't display my profile when I clicked manage other profiles.. So I tried going into safe mode and making a new account with admin priviledges hoping my account would be displayed out of safe mode. But I had no luck there and it only displays that new profile I made at the log in screen now. So does anybody know how to fix this without switching to a whole new profile?

Hi thesaltydalty, Welcome to Seven Forums.
Access the guide you used, tick the box, highlight your account then click properties. your user name should be in the top 2 and nothing in the bottom box.

Why do you think your account is not an admin account now? If it's because you are getting UAC prompts, thats normal, even for members of the administrator group. If you go to Control Panel, User Accounts, what does it show for your account?

I fixed this problem by going on the new admin account I made in safe mode and going to netplwiz, highlighting my account and clicking properties, then going to group membership and making my account an admin there. It's weird because I thought I did that before, but at least it's fixed.

Remembering what you do is usually easy, undoing it is never is on occasions.
