Welcome Gautam7
Having 6gb of ram, myself I have not needed the readyboost feature. Having helped many at the forum, I do have some second hand knowledge. The majority indicate that if it helps at all, the effects are nominal. You can always give it a try, but I think that you will have the same experience as many who have tried it, already.

this feature works great for me on Win7 SP1 beta x32, seems like they even improved it a little in this sp1 beta release.
i have a P4 HT cpu, so i need all the ram i can get if a want to use my pc for multiple task

same as you, i have only 2 gb ram, but i have 2 usb sticks of 4 gb each(it's better than one at 8gb) dedicated to ready boost.
if u want this feature to work at its full, you will need to "Dedicate this device to ready boot" and let win manage it, it's not recommended to use the stick for other tasks

so yes, readyboost really works, it works best for older pc with a small amount of ram (2-3gb), give it a try

Ok thanks everyone for your time... So i wont be able to use the pendrive for anything else once i dedicated it for readyboost....One last question Is Readyboosting 2gb is equivalent to installing 2 gb RAM???

No. Readyboost is NOT a replacement for RAM, it's actually a compliment to your hard disk cache. It will increase (somewhat) disk load times for files that superfetch may have otherwise placed in RAM, so it does have a (small) beneficial effect for RAM usage, but it is *not* a RAM replacement or extension. However, with 2GB of RAM, depending on how you use your machine, Readyboost will probably show you some improvement over not having it at all. If you were to simply add 2GB more of RAM, the benefits would be markedly less in most usage scenarios (but not all).
