need right driver for windows 7

Hello I am new here & need help
I installed windows 7 ultimate cannot get internet.I looked in device manager & ethernet controller has a yellow mark next to it.That tells me to update driver cant do it without internet.If someone was to guide me where to get & which driver to download & burn on a cd then I can load it on windows 7 which is on my other pc. The motherboard is as it says on the cover of the users manual says: FOXCOM 915 G7AC

Also inside the manual says: MOTHERBOARD 915P7AC/915G7AC series

It was built for my son it does not say what model it is. It's a desktop PC
As for the ethernet controller I click on properties it says
The drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28)
To find a driver for this device click Update Driver
I hope you can help me.

Newest driver for this controller is a 2004 WinXP driver, even Windows Update doesn't have a newer one. I would buy a PCI Ethernet card that supports Windows 7.

Sorry to hear that.

As there is only support up to Win XP not even Vista it looks like your only option is to replace your card. Here are a few:

You can try the XP driver in compatibility mode. download the driver to your desktop>find the setup.exe file>click properties>check the run in compatibility mode>drop down menu XP open and run as administrator. Might work. Fabe http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html

Try compat mode, if not there are a few tricks you can do. Though apparently XP and Vista/7 have a newer driver setup. So you might need something newer.... Is it onboard? You might look for the Motherboard Chipset drivers, try the motherboards website if it's onboard.

I've just installed an evaluation copy of Win7, on my old Dell D600 laptop. I'm having similar driver problems. Ethernet works out of the box, but I can't get wireless to work - the XP driver available on Dell's website won't run. And compatibility mode is greyed out (presumably because it's an evalutaion version so free).

What I don't understand, is when I installed Ubuntu linux on this same laptop, everything works out of the box. Why can't MS do that?
(I remember years ago (mid 90's) spending ages installing linux and searching the internet for drivers and ways of correcting problems - but now it seems to be that linux the easy one to install!:sarc

Any suggestions on getting the driver.
I also get reminders saying there's a problem with the driver for Network Controller.

Have you tried turning digital signing off?
to do this press F8 during the BIOS startup then in the advanced startup options
disable digital signing. then try install the driver. It worked for me
