Need Windows 7 Home Premium N Key for Update to Win 10

Hi folks,

I hope someone can help me here. I've lost my Win 7 Home Premium N Key. The problem is, that it doesn't seem to work to just buy any other Windows 7 Key to activate the Home Premium N Version and I don't find a key for the N-Version anywhere.

So I hope, that someone can help me here, by either telling me, where to buy a Key for the N-Version, or maybe sending me an old one, that you don't need anymore or having any idea how I can upgrade my existing system from Windows Home Premium N to any other version without loosing all the other software installations and settings.

Hello Abandon, welcome to Seven Forums,

You should download and install Belarc Advisor (FREE) from here. It is a well known product, and can be used to give you a profile of your computer Hardware and Software, including the product key of the Operating System. From what I understand, this software should still work on the N version of the operating system.

Once you have obtained the product key from Belarc Advisor, then you may use it to update to Windows 10.

You want CD Key from Magical not Product ID

Find Product Key vbs press ctrl + c and you can paste key into notepad, wordpad, word, etc.
converts base16 (hex) to Alpha-Numeric.

Thank you for the tips for finding the keys. Unfortunately it seems like it was set back to the generic/default key:

Installed from 'Full Packaged Product' media.
Product ID: 00362-637-0000007-85002 match to CD Key data
CD Key:

This key is only for installation and can be found on many websites, such as:
Generic Windows Installation Keys

What I would need is a real activating key or some work-around. But I don't know where to buy or find it.

I didn't see what he posted, but if it is a generic key it doesn't matter.

You could try these, one gives the installed key and the other gives the default key. They migh be different on your machine.

If you have a system restore point, or a system image from a time when the valid key was installed, you could get it from that.
