Netgear switch causing RIGHT CLICK context menu slow down

Hello team:

I have WIN7 running on a Mac Mini via Bootcamp.
I recently set up a Synology NAS with a Netgear GS 108T switch.

I've noticed that whenever the switch is plugged in (or powered on) the Right Click / Context menu access slows down dramatically. It literally takes 30 seconds sometimes, for the context menu to open.
This is 100% repeatable, and goes 'back to normal' every time i power down the switch (even with the NAS disconnected.. this does the same).

I've tried a couple of Reg hacks.. thinking maybe (just maybe) this was something to do with the OS scanning the "send to" or "share with" menu items, so i disabled them, but no change.

Amazingly, Netgear tech support is adamant about this having 'nothing to do with their switch' even if it's clear something is happening (in the OS) when the switch is connected.

I am open to upgrading the switch, if i can actually determine that it's the culprit, but obviously i'd like to be sure.

I've read several post on the internet about 'context menu slow-down' but none of the fixes i found seem to have helped.

Any thoughts on this??

I am very new to Networking on PC's, and to be honest, I'm a little bit lost. To me the whole Network control panel and setup, along with "Home Groups", "Public vs Home vs Private" etc etc seems amazingly complicated.

Thanks!!!

PS - I'm also open to upgrading to WIN10 (even if this is a 7 forum) if you think that might help with this... since Win7 support seems to be at the end of it's run....

What are the network cards and router port 100 meg or 1 gig and what is the switch 100 meg or 1 gig as this could do it if its a mismatch.
As 7 is ending soon its a good time to update to 10 as its still free

The free upgrade did expire but from what I have read you can still do it by downloading windows 10 and create a bootable USB drive, Just make sure you download the right version there are only two versions of win 10 that would interest you either Win 10 home or Win pro if your version of Win 7 is Home download that version if you have Win 7 pro or Ultimate download the Win 10 pro version and then the right bit either 32 or 64 bit.
