Hello,
I have a built a new computer recently which has been running perfectly until the other day. Firstly, i am using Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and my Motherboard is a GA-890FXA-UD7 rev 2.1 with Dual Gigabit Lan Realtek RTL 8168/8111 ports. I have had windows update disabled since installation, since Windows updates predicatbly tear apart the fabric of my computer space
One morning, without warning the internet task tray icon showed the the cable was unplugged, which it was clearly not. The cable was in the Port and the green LED was flashing at regular longer than normal intervals with a Solid Orange LED. Since this was a recently built computer i had only installed the driver with the motherboard, and i have no rollback option. System restore did nothing at all aswell. And Network Diagnostics.... well that just stated the $%@#$ obvious every time and made me want to explore additonal options, which evidently is veyr pointless too
. I tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling to find no change after rebooting. I had recieved an uninstalling error after the Installshield application had closed. This was an INteractive service Error, which was trying to show my this error:
RTDiagLib
INVALD_HANDLE_VALUE
I ignored this since googling it came up with only 1 result, which had no help. Also while reinstalling i recieved a Installshield error about a port in deep sleep mode (which i have no idea about), so i continued the install and downloaded an updated driver, which i updated via the device manager. The device manager shows the ports working correctly and Windows recognises that the ports are there, but cannot recognise that an ethernet is connected... SInce groundzero of my problem, now both the ports will not even light up at all, when the Drivers from the Motherboard disc have been installed. I have found it pointless to install another drive for the tenth time, since no attempt of fixing it has bettered the situation.
I checked Bios and used the smart Lan test for both ports. THe first test gave some results, all equal to 0m with or without the cable connected. And the second port test made BIOS freeze, every single time. I have not even updated the BIOS either.
I am absolutly stumped and this problem is about to make me consider buying a LAN card, which is not going to happen either
Please help me
