network meter not working?

I just downloaded the network meter gadget, however it does show anything, everything is at 0.0000bit/s however it does detect my ip address etc. What is wrong?

Hi Rossmodel and welcome to the Forum. Not sure what you mean by "network meter gadget".

The latest network meter is version 6.4 at the top you see (Network Type) and there are two options:
1- wired connection and
2-wireless connection.
Select which one of connections you use and the network interface of your router for internal IP and speed and that will show you all of your traffic

"network meter" from windows 7 gadgets, you know the gadgets menu when you right click the desktop.

sry - i kno this post is rather old.. I just downloaded this "Gadget".. version 8 .. from the makers site.. addgadget.com...

Under Network interface for speed.. i see nothing in the pop down.. no interface listed..

i DO see a bunch under NEtwork Interface for info and int. IP.. and after picking my interface.. i do see my internal and external IP.. and the popout has a bunch of pertinent / correct data about my connection..

just odd i dont see anything for speed.. and nothing listed under that drop down.

Theres a 'note' under the display tab for the speed test.. that says "for 64 bit os.. ( which i have ).. you need to change to 32 bit".. and theres a link to their site and a a reg change to make.. that sound like its just for the speed test?..

I threw them an email also ( Huh?.. nobody there at 2:36 am ..hehe..at their site for gadgets..hehe )..

Had a similar problem when I upgraded from 7.0.4 to v8. Rebooted, and both selection drop downs then appeared.

Also, they have posted an update to 8.1. Claims to fix some bugs. You should update to that version.
