Network Properties weird event

I have been connecting my phone via USB Tethering to access the internet; but was having issues with the wifi. To try to fix this I purchased one of those wifi repeaters that you plug into a wall socket. My mobile phone tethering brings up a new network connection everytime I do this. I had 8 Network locations of this in the list ranging from: Network, to Network 7. The wifi repeater was not showing up on my phone's wifi list and so I connected a ethernet cable to it and connected it to my pc. When the network came up, it came up as: Network 29. Why would this happen?

Another similar event occurred today where after disconnecting and reconnecting the usb tethering, a new network was not created. I had done this earlier and the same result did not happen.
