I installed a VALET wireless router today. OMG, it is causing my internet to be so SLOW. :mad:Tried to download a couple of files from Adobe Flash and never did complete the d/l. This is terrible, doesn't seem the effort. Tomorrow I was going to do a wireless printer, but having second thoughts. Is there a way to make it better. My s/o will hit the roof when he tries to go online and have to sit and wait and wait for so long. I could not get into aol, which I like to check out.
I hope I didn't invest in this router for nothing.:o
Help!!!!!!

Hello,

Is the issue wired or wireless connection? Have you tried both connections?

If the issue is wireless, is your network secured with WPA or WPA2?

Also, please post your speedtest results.

Did you have a Router before and if so, what make and model?
Why did you replace it?
What make and model is your computer?
How are you connecting to the router?

Speedtest results shows a Grade F, not good.

Usually wireless connection is slower than wired. So, in your case the issue is your LAN (wired)? Is this true?
Any other computers in your home that experiencing the same issue as you?

Verify that you have the latest firmware for your router. If you don't you may download it directly from the Manufacturer's site and then manually install it.

You may uninstall your Network Adapter from Device Manager. Right click on it and choose uninstall.
Restart your computer after and let Windows reinstall your Driver. It's also safe to have your device ready in case Windows did not detect your driver. Also, I would highly recommend for you to have the latest driver that you may download from the Manufacturer's site.

Also, move the network cable to a diff Router's LAN Port, see if it helps. If you have a spare patch/straight Network Cable, either Cat5e or Cat6 will be best rather than using a Cat5 network cable.

Please give us an update.

Also to make sure where we are getting the slow connectiong... I would suggest doing a "tracert" with and without the router.

Open Command Prompt:

Type: tracert "www.google.com" (tracert one word; space, and then the website w/o quotations.)

copy the details by right click on the command prompt bar at the top and click copy.

with the tracert command we can see where we are getting the high pings.
