I have been having this issue for quite some time now and have succumb to posting my own thread as reading all the other threads on the same issue did nothing for me. my computer says im connected to network and have strong internet connection but i cannot browse or use the internet in any way. all other devices including my parents main pc and phones/tablets, in the house can access internet but not my main pc.

i have success browsing in safe mode but even then the internet connection eventually cut out.

i have tried all of the following multiple times:
-resetting router
-updating router firmware
-cmd commands: netsh resets (all different ones), ipconfig /flush dns, ipconfig renew (and) release, winsock resets, and others
-reinstalling network adaptor
-using manual dns servers like, 4.2.2.2 and 8.8.8.8, and others
-removing all antivirus
-running TTDSkiller, FRST, Combofix
-resetting internet in internet options
-restoring computer to earlier date
-

all of the above methods HAVE NOT worked. please i am desperately need help with this problem. any new ideas would be greatly appreciated

Hello and welcome VonDarkmoor01 now before we can really get down and help mate please see this pre typed ditty of mine.
Now before we can help we do need to know what is in your machine so please do this System Info - See Your System Specs
or either enter the specs of your system in your forum profile the specs will appear when we click on that little box bottom left of the post screen it is for me the preferable option as it is easy. As you may appreciate it is very hard when you don’t know what one is working with for example a diesel or petrol engine.

Have you also run these yet?? if not then please do.
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
Disk Check < if necessary include the /f and /r in the command line as per Option2 (if you are going to use the /r switch there is no need for the /f switch)
Run these in safe mode and the sfc often best run for two to three runs – you can leave out the /r switch in ckdsk if you feel it not necessary

if no fix then these

SUPERAntiSpyware | Remove Malware | Remove Spyware - AntiMalware, AntiSpyware, AntiAdware!
Malwarebytes | Malwarebytes Premium
AdwCleaner Download
ADW download from bleeping computer delete any rubbish found with the malware scans
(NB If you are running Kaspersky as the main AV then it might need disabling it when trying ADW because it does not like it at times)

Now lastly how are you hooking up the the net via Ethernet cable or wifi?? If the cable then try using a new cable or at least make sure the cable is seating snuggly.

Ok mate no it will not affect anything by using the phone and those scans do the sfc for three runs as it has been mentioned by a few that one scan can miss things.
The chkdsk is equally important too and the malware scans are really just a quick check for malware and other clutter.

Now getting to the issue again just what browser are you using and also what AV??

Hi VonDarkmoor,
with what you have done so far, sounds more like a restriction
from
the router -- Parental controls options
or if your parents PC has Admin rights over yours and they are blocking it.

whats the message when you try to use the net

I have my doubts that it would be parental blocking because my parents mever did anything intentionally and every other device in the house conneconnects fine. As well my pc as on odd occasions got internet once after a power drain and a couple timesback when I tried reinstalling the network adaptor but that no longer works.

When I use any browser the page I try to load says "this webpage is not available" if I ping a website such as google I usually only get one of the four back if any.

If it were a problem with parental options how would I know and how would I fix it. The main pc connected (wired) to the router is windows 8.

Hmm now ?David my friend I am no expert and probably Samuria will be better qualified than I at reading those reports.

However I did see the the last listing - Additional text and it looks like you have done a lot of gaming and with no AV on board I am still inclined to think that there is some malware involved that those other what I refer to as basic scans have not picked up. There were references to Java too which I have not used for many years but suspect some of those games? required it to be installed. I am only mentioning that because it has been known (at least in the past) that is vulnerable to "intrusions".

So I would again be inclined to run a rescue disk to root out any possible malware that is hidden away. Now I could be terribly wrong but it will cost nothing in time and resources to run this http://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/rescuedisk
You will need to download this and make a bootable disk all you need to do then is set the BIOS to the optical drive as first boot choice insert the disk and let it run. In my experience it takes only a few minutes and we have nothing to lose and also can eliminate any deeply hidden malware.

Just wondering if you ran that rescue disk I linked back a couple of posts? I am asking because it will check the machine without running Windows and as John has said you may have had a virus anyway.

It only takes a few minutes to make the bootable disk or stick and less to run the program.
