Solved Network share password problem?

Hello all,
I'm new to this forum and hoping to get a simple answer. I think I know the answer but I just want to double check.

I'm having somewhat of a security issuse with shared folder. I have multiple computers setup on my LAN. On my personal computer I have a shared folder that I want to be able to access on every computer. When I try to access it from other computers it asks for a user name and password, I enter them and I get access. But when I try to access the folder from my personal laptop it does not ask for a user name or password, it just automatically grants me access. The thing is though on my laptop and PC i have the exact same username and password for both. So is it because that the credentials needed to access the folder on my PC are the same on my laptop the reason it doesn't ask for them when I'm on my laptop? I'm thinking thats the answer but I just want to be sure.

Yes that is correct. I have several PCs and one Mac and on all I use the exact same username and password. I never get asked for those when accessing any of them from any other.
