Network slow to initialize on startup, slow system

Hello. I started having the same issue late last week on my laptop. I thought it was hardware related but finally googled on the issue when nothing else worked and found this topic.

As someone else mentioned, I also had a Buffalo NAS that was on my home office network but the NAS had been taken off the network at about the same time. The actual offending service is a service related to my file backups. It was stuck on STARTING. So I did the AUTOMATIC(DELAYED) and all is well.

On mine I was unable to start the services.msc control panel but was able to bring up the task manager using <ctrl> <alt> <Dlt>, The service that was creating delays (up to 2 minutes) was the HP CUE discovery Service.

I have to say that 10 years ago HP product was top of the pyramid, the software was quality and updated.....If you search for problems with hpqddsvc you'll find a litany of issues...all of which points to the reality that HP is very much a shadow of its former self.

Seting the hpqddsvc to manual start meant the boot completed and when ever I look the service is actually running so something else starts it, but at a time and in a way that doesnt stop everything else from completing the boot

I saw in another thread that this problem (which I had until now) is related to services starting up.

Right after you start before the problem resolves,
RUN "services.msc" to bring up the services
Sort by Status and look for one that says "Starting" rather than Started or blank.

For me it was "Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)"
I changed it from Automatic to Automatic (Delayed) and the problem was solved.

Just wanted to say this also worked for me! It seems that the program that could be causing it is completely random for everyone. For me, it was the ASUS Fan Control program. I have no idea why that would have anything to do with the network, but my internet connection was freezing until that program was fully started. Changing it to delayed fix the problem immediately!

Had same problem, computer started taking 4mins on a core I7 samsung laptop, before everything was done.

Rolled back to a less recent driver for my Intel N6235 wireless adaptor, and all worked fine.

Now start up time is 90secs.

Found the problem... Solved
My USB printer connected to my QNAP - setup as network printer.
When my printer is powered off, the QNAP doesn't see it - so when my workstation tries to connect to the printer it can't - turned on the printer rebooted problem resolved.

I restarted my laptop, then I opened quickly the services application (services.msc) and I looked for the one that was "Inicializating". In my case it was NVIDIA Streaming Service. I changed it's configuration to Manual startup and the problem dissapeared !!

Origin web helper service was the problem for me, this has been a pain in the **** for a long time.

The service SamsungMagicianSVC (v7.x - fairly recently released by Samsung, so might be a current problem for other users of Win7 and Samsung SSD) was the problem for me -- it was affecting my network adapter and TinyWall firewall from starting properly. Set SamsungMagicianSVC to Automatic (Delayed Start) and that solved both issues.
