I have a netgear WNDR4500 wireless router. I just built a house, so I've got plenty of cat5e cable and I'm trying to keep as much off the wireless network as possible.
The problem is that I can't connect to attached drives on the router with machines that are not also on the router. I'm hoping you guys may have a solution that I don't.
The network topology is as follows
U-verse Gateway
- TV
- Netgear 801 Switch
- - PC 1
- - PC 2
- - laptop 1
- - X-box 360
- - netgear wireless router
- - - kindle
- - - cell phone
- - - laptop 2
- - - USB Hard Drive
laptop 2 can see the drive and if I direct wire laptop 1 into the router, it can see the hard drive.
As described above, none of PC 1, PC 2, or laptop 1 can see the USB Hard drive.
I also have a printer that I would like to connect to the router and have available to the entire network as well.
Any suggestions or links to guides would be appreciated.
