Guys I'm an old fellow. My phone is an iphone 6s. That's all I need. Anything else is to big to carry as it's prime use is as an MP3 player plus calls & text.

I intend to travel a lot and need something to read ebooks. Most are in PDF format. The iphone 6s is too small. I need another device to read the PDF books comfortably.

Tell me what's a sensible device to buy. NB It's just for reading not gaming or whatever else ppl. do with these things.

If it's just for reading then if available in your area an Amazon fire tablet would be the safest option, they are cheap/reliable and with them running an Android OS you have a lot more options to run different software for your needs.

I personally would recommend a 10.5" screen if you intend to read ebooks. Any screen smaller seems only to imply too many swipe gestures trying to fit the page on the screen.

Thanks for replying. I'm off to the local shop this week to compare 7,8 & 10" screens. An extra thought. Do these things hold a micro SD card so I can carry some movies & documentaries etc to watch to while away the time?
