Hey-o,
I'm going to replace an old DVD drive today and I wanted to make sure my procedure is correct. Here's what a plan to do:
1) Uninstall the current drive from the device manager.
2) Shut down.
3) Physically remove the current drive from the computer.
4) Physically install the new drive into the computer.
5) Boot up*
* Windows should automatically install the device drivers, correct? (i've confirmed that the drive is supported by windows and the manufacturer)
Does this look good?
