Hello,

I just changed my graphics card from AMD FirePro W4100 to a (single) NVIDIA NVS 510. I completely removed the old drivers before installing, and have installed the latest drivers for the new card from their web site.

All seems fine, except that Aero is now disabled. Before, I had the default Windows 7 theme, with my background set to a slideshow from a specific folder. I can't seem to get Aero enabled again. In particular, I like seeing thumbnails when I hover over the icons on the taskbar, whereas I now just have a text label.

I tried clicking the Windows 7 theme, and then changing the background to my slideshow, but this set the "Windows Color" setting back to "Windows 7 Basic" (not even the Windows 7 that it was before).

I've seen articles saying you need to go to the "Windows Color & Appearance" control panel, but I can't find this.

I have updated my Windows Experience (which dropped my graphics ratings from 7.3 to a measly 6.7), but that didn't help.

Anyone any idea how I get back my previous configuration? Please let me know if you need any more information. Thanks.

Hello,

Sorry for the delay in replying, been away for a week and a half.

I've updated the specs. It was only the graphics card that had changed, everything else was as before.

Thanks for the link, but as it happens, I've just restarted for the first time since coming back, and Aero is now working! No, I didn't do anything while I was away. Computers eh?

Thanks for the help.
