If it does not work from Start/search, press Win+R and type msconfig into the Run box. Then press Enter.

It worked. I really don't know what my problem was before. I guess it's possible I kept typing it wrong each time - I'm not used to this built-in keyboard, and the text size is tiny because the screen is small but the resolution is high.

I think I'm going to do a recovery and start all over anyway because I forgot to start off with a separate administrator account that is separate from the user account I will normally use.
