so i may be looking at a new mobo AGAIN! im having repeated issues with mine.

so i may be in for a new board.

any suggestions?

big things are that it must have:

3770k support
USB 3.0 Front header
SLI Gen 3 x16 x2
Good OCing support (want my i7 to hit 4.8 eventually)

Is that the motherboard you bought that end December 2013? You should still have that one year warranty over it.

Tell us the issues you're running into. Might some have a clue.

yupp

ill take some screen shots, but basically, when i shut my PSU off, it half restores factory settings and voltages. it also wont allow me to change any values once i saved them. the only way to fix this is to clear CMOS and re input the values or load a profile. CPU and RAM speed is not recognized. ive tried flashing multiple bioses but nothing works. so i was debating to either RMA it again, or get a different one

Have you tried to change the little motherboard battery? This one could be used well or badly inserted.

Have you tried also to flash the Intel Mei Firmware v8.1 ASUS have on their support site?

Humm..i suggest you to check battery first, that would be cheaper. If not working, then try RMA since you still can.

im trying the firmware update first...

battery seems alright, becase im not getting issues with a messed up clock or errors, just missing info, but i will try. thanks!

yea, im trying to figure out how to do this. imdownloading the latest MEI, ME81 update tool, and chipset drivers from asus website.

Okay, like you know it's always best to get all the latest mb drivers etc. Your settings not saving is strange, and I see why he mentioned the battery. Have you already talked with Asus support? That should not happen.

yup, they said they will call me in 24 hrs. useless as usual.
tried to install latest version of MEI, but said my PC does not meet the minimum requirements, so i will try one previous version. chipset drivers are currently up to date.


EDIT: i get an error as well.

i get errors on everything. im stumped.

I agree with taking advantage of the warranty because this could be a hardware issue. Also you have to be careful with BIOS updates because if you do the wrong one or your update messes up you could end up with a fancy paperweight.

RMAs are a pain. I kept having a hard drive go out. Turned out to be a bad power supply that was frying it but it was a pain to keep calling Seagate.

If one fail...you have to reboot before trying again the Intel MEI...The one (8.1) I gave you link is the right one include the firmware.

Does in program & Features appear the Intel MEI?, If so uninstall it, reboot to stop all services, then reinstall the Intel MEI Software (not firmware yet). It should work!

Don't mistaken both Intel MEI file you've downloaded.

Normally it should be at least the motherboard manufacturer Intel MEI Firmware pre-installed that's why it is strange it shows N/A instead.
