New Monitor won't boot into Windows 7

I have a new Benq BL3200 monitor. It runs Safe mode just fine even at full resolution (2560x1440) but when I restart in shows the "Starting Windows" page then goes black. Sometimes, it will show my 3 gadgets but otherwise be dead, i.e., no kb, no mouse, no Windows screen.

The monitor is very picky about cables. It came with every conceivable cable but will only work with the supplied ones.

I don't know if the monitor is defective or I'm not doing something obvious. If you have a clue, please let me know. Have no more hairs to pull out of my head. All gone.

Does the new monitor owners manual say anything about needing new drivers to support the thing?

What was the resolution of the old monitor? Will the new monitor support it? I would uninstall the graphics driver while in safe mode, boot it up and reinstall it

Problem seems to be cables. I can only use the supplied cables. If I use any other cable other than the supplied cable I get the weird behavior. In fact, I've always had my computer connected to the TV via HDMI using the same cable. Can't do that now. If I connect the same cable, Windows won't boot.

Once up, the monitor is stunning and a jaw dropper. The stand alone is amazing. It's very heavy, with tilting in all directions including up and down.
