Solved New RAM installed, constant BSODS (ntoskrnl, ntfs.sys)

I've been getting BSODS whenever I play some kind of PC game (FIFA mostly). I installed new RAM to get rid of my old 4GB stick that was also giving me BSODS as well. Here's some info, full minidumps and information included in the attached .zip.

As a side note, the reason my Nvidia graphics driver is kinda old is because everytime I update to a recent driver, I'll launch a game, and then the entire screen goes blank/grey and I get a notification saying "The Display Driver has stopped responding and has recovered". When I use an older driver I dont get this error at all.

I've also ran Memtest86 and Windows Memory Diagnostic on the new memory (model: KVR1333D3N9/8G ). Nothing showed up, despite running both tests twice.

you may have to try running memtest a few more times as apparently with this program sometimes it takes more than just a few passes for any issues with ram to show up. I would give that a shot and report back because it does sound like there could be some issue with the ram that you just installed with the issue possibly being one or more sticks could be bad. And yes even if they are brand new ram can still cause issues right out of the package. Ive seen and heard this before too many times to count.

Hi sixty01,

How many passes were completed with MemTest86+?
If MemTest86+ didn't reach at least 8 complete passes, please run MemTest86+ again.

Diagnostic Test

 RAM TEST

arrow.png
Run MemTest86+ to analyse your RAM. MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 7 Forums

   Note
picture.php

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

For the GPU drivers, please try removing them using DDU
Please uninstall everything of Nvidia using Display Driver Uninstaller and install new drivers from Nvidia

So I've ran Memtest again with 8 passes, nothing came up. I'm thinking its the motherboard. The A880G+ model doesnt have the 8gb stick as a supported memory hardware, I contacted BIOSTAR before buying and they said it should work without any issues. Still get frequent BSODS.

As the tcpip and netio drivers are also in the stack text, I recommend to update the network adapter drivers.
Thus, for the Realtek ethernet: Realtek
For the Realtek wifi USB adapter, check the manufacturer and make sure the driver is most recent.

Updated the network and usb drivers, as far as I know, they haven't been giving me BSODS, but I still get them frequently (other causes). I've also updated my Nvidia video card drivers as well. Take a look at the recent dm log file I've uploaded.

Diagnostics Test

 System File Check

Please try following:
  • Open an admin command prompt
  • Copy/paste "sfc/scannow" (without quotes) and press enter
  • When it finished reboot your system
  • Open again an admin command prompt
  • Enter sfc/scannow again
If sfc/scannow does NOT say "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violation", please upload the cbs.log file located at {windows partition}\Windows\Logs\CBS\, if the file is too large try a 3rd party uploader like dropbox, onedrive, google drive, mediafire etc.
System File Check(SFC a.k.a. Windows Resource Protection) needs to have your system rebooted in order for sfc to try to fix the problems that it finds.

I did perform the diagnostics test, nothing came up, all that showed up was "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violation". As of yesterday I deleted every Nvidia driver and performed a clean installation with the latest driver. Uploaded a new dm log.

The current ram is in your system specs?
What was the previous ram you used?
Have you tried different slots?
What is the voltage and frequency value of the ram in the BIOS?

Yes, I've tried different slots, it makes no difference really. This model has only 2 slots. I've attached a photo regarding motherboard manual/specs. Up to now I think it is either the voltage(s) or simply motherboard support.

I've figured out my problem: graphics card overheating, and memory/motherboard support. After I put back the previous 4GB stick (while still keeping the 8GB stick inserted), I get no BSODS. I also underclocked my GPU gradually until I found a good config. In the future I plan to upgrade my mobo and GPU but for now I've found a fix.

*EDIT* After logging temperatures during gaming, the highest recorded temperature was 51 C, which by most standards isnt extremely hot. So I've decided to hold on with a new GPU but I've confirmed that the motherboard/memory support is the cause of my BSODS. Biostar states that for the A880G+ model each slot can only take up to 4GB of memory (8GB total for both slots).
