Solved new ssd slower than i had hoped ?

hi just installed fresh win 7 on first ssd (yep Ive been stuck down a well :shock

however im not sure im seeing the speeds I should be boot times etc.

I included a snip of crystal disk info/mark and dev manager

did try to set AHCI in bios prior to win 7 install (greyed out) also tried since AHCI remains greyed out

Please edit your profile with ALL your hardware specs.
You have two devices that can explain the low transfer rates:
- The SSD itself
- The SATA channel.

On post 1, on the picture, Disk Info: transfer mode = SATA/150 ! SATA/600.
If you put the mouse over it says: Current mode ! Supported mode.
In other words your SSD can work on SATA 600 but is working on SATA 150.
That's why your SSD is working with so low transfer rates.
As I don't have your hardware specs, can't help you more.

I have also checked in regedit msahci start value is zero and pciide start is set to value 3
also checked trim is enabled and it is.

Speccy shows max transfer mode = SATA III - 600 and used transfer mode = SATA I -150.

Is the SSD connected to SATA 0 on MoBo?
As you have an old system, does disk operation set to IDE on MoBo?

however I am unsure of the exact sata location of the ssd but is installed in only slot/bay for storage (mini pc). crystal disk mark shows msahci as ok so assumed was running in ahci ?

NVIDIA's MCP7A chipset has only SATA II (3.0 G/s) so you'll never reach the 6.0 G/s. DailyTech - NVIDIA MCP7A Chipset Details Revealed
But you are working on as SATA I, and it's probably because on BIOS your drive is set to IDE mode.
To install under SATA you will need to set to SATA (and may have to load the NVIDIA's MCP7A drivers during win 7 installation)

Could i potentially see faster speed by installing the boot disk into a external bay through usb 2.0

Once again, Please edit your profile with ALL your hardware specs.

If you make it run at SATA II, it will double actual speed.
Windows won't run on an external device.

Look at your BIOS at disk mode and set it NOT to IDE mode. You may have to re install win7 32.

Take a picture from your BIOS screen an post it here as an attachment.

The pictures helped a lot.
On picture 4 I see AHCI port 0 = not detected.
Can you attach the SSD to AHCI port 0 instead of AHCI port 1?

Edit. Just seen a Youtube video and saw how it is assembled. Only one slot.

Oh great, yes this is as i said seemed to be in ahci?
As for changing ports the machine has 1 drive bay ? I am unsure if it can be done on my pc i have searched alot on my pc and ssds ahci but no joy just how to physically install no bios help etc

Sad to say, but it seems there is nothing you can do.
- You SSD is SATA 600
- The chipset is SATA 300
Don't know why it works as SATA 150.

Is there a BIOS update to your device?

Open device manager and look if there is a yellow alert on any device. It may be that there is a missing driver.

Shame if nothing can be done,strange thing is there was an 8gb ssd linux version of this pc at release Acer Aspire Revo R3600 Desktop PC (Intel Atom N230 1.6 Ghz, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB SSD, Linux): Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

So assumed mobo had the ability connections/ports etc

Maybe there is a version that has msata slot that uses SATA 0.
