New win 7 build freezing

Built the machine yesterday and installed OEM Win7 pro 64bit. Has frozen up 4 times, 2 times while transfering large number of files on the network, 2 times while installing large software packages...happens around 10-15 minutes into the progress bar. Logs are attached and system specs are filled in.

Don't see any BSODs so we'll have to start off with some hardware tests

Update your Intel network drivers - http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...eng&OSVersion=Windows 7*&DownloadType=Drivers

Please run these tests and report back the results
1. Memtest86 - Run for 7-8 passes - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html
2. Prime95 - Run all three tests for 3-4 hours each or until fail - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/100352-cpu-stress-test-prime95.html
3. Hard drive scan usings SeaTools - SeaTools for Windows | Seagate - Both long and short tests

Will get started on that, however I did try running prime95 yesterday and it had my CPU overheating in about 5 minutes..so won't be able to run that for hours.

What type of temps are you seeing? If your CPU is overheating then you need to get that taken care of first before you do anything else. Make sure your CPU heatsink is seated properly on top of the CPU. If it is then you either need to apply some artic silver thermal paste or get a better CPU cooler.

My cooler didn't fit so it's running on intel's stock cooling while the new one is shipped.

Idles in the high 50's (centigrade), spiked to about 85 when I ran prime after just a few minutes so i shut it down.

Of course temp never goes that high except when torture testing with prime..highest I have seen is get in normal use is low 60's

According to Intel, the highest temp your CPU is rated for is only 77.6°C. I would get that cooling issue fixed first before you do any more testing.
