There were 13 Important Updates this week from Microsoft. After installing them my system would not boot up. I had to run system restore to remove these before solving the problem. I have read that Windows 8.1 has this problem, listing two patches (KB2982791 & KB2975719). These are not listed on the list for Windows 7 x64. I do know the culprit must be in the "Update For Windows 7 x64 based systems as I reloaded those only (There are 4) with the same results. Anyone know which one(s) are the culprits? Update: Noticed KB2982791 is listed under "Security Update for Windows 7" but that can't be the only update that is causing the problem!

As of the morning of August 17th Windows has revised the August updates and removed KB2982791 & KB2970228. I reloaded all the others and have had no problems. Note: When I first loaded all of the original updates computer did not have any trouble rebooting for the final install of those updates. It's when you power off for the first time after installing that the computer was unable to re-boot!
