No HDMI audio to TV

You wouldn't happen to have anything showing in Device Manager for Nvidia audio would you? If so disable any that are showing (can be up to 4) and see what happens.

Also if you're using the latest or reasonably recent video driver, it is possible that when installing it also installed the Nvidia audio. Open Programs and Features and locate the Nvidia drivers entry and start the uninstall. That should bring up a Nvidia window asking whether to uninstall everything or only selected drivers, something like this,

If the audio driver is there select only it to uninstall and leave the rest.

I see nothing like that in Device manager.

also, the newest driver actually splits up the programs individually in "Programs and Features" and I dont see any HD audio there, but when I try to do a custom installation, Nvidia audio is not there.

Hello, I'm currently using a DVI-HDMI adapter to run an HDMI cable from my computer's graphics card into my TV. I have an ATI Radeon HD 4890, and in the sound management panel of options there's an HDMI Output that I can set as default. Perhaps Drivers must be installed on your computer for the TV that you are trying to use? I'm running Two monitors currently and one of my monitors is the same model as the larger TV in my room that I watch movies on when I have friends over.

Finally, I actually have both sound and video through two separate cables.
The thing is that even though I had a stereo cable connected frm my computer to the TV, the TV was picking some kind of imaginary "audio" signal from the HDMI therefore causing it to use that instead of the audio from the stereo cable.
Customization for nvidia drivers are not that great, and even though I had audio disabled in the Nvidia control panel, there was some "imaginary" audio picked up by the TV.
So, I forced the computer to recognize the cable as a DVI and not send any audio and installed a custom driver for the TV.

Here is the entire procedure if anyone has a similar problem.

Even though I havent fixed this problem with the SPDIF and HDMI cable, at least I have some sound out of the TV. If any case, I will buy a nvidia card with a fermi chip so I wont have to deal with having extra cables in addition to the TV.

Thanks everyone and I appreciate all your help and advice. :)
