When I open up Firefox there is no internet connection. I looked up why is this happening and so far it's a virus that is doing this. My AVG found to malwares and I deleted them but still no internet connection. I read that Scorpion Saver is causing this. I tried to uninstall the ScorpionSaver from my computer, but when i try to do this, a windows installer window pops up and says "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package "ScorpionSaver.msi" in the box below.
It gives me a drop down menu that says c://temp//

When i click on OK, another windows installer window pops up and says "The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it."

Have you tried searching for that file scorpionsaver.msi? If not do a search and see if it comes up with that file. One thing i would also do is download superantispyware and ccleaner and install and run both of them; tell them to clean and then once cleaned; reboot your system. Even though you didnt say you had spyware; i would still do it; as there still could be some other garbage in there causing underlying problems. below will be links for both super anti spyware and ccleaner:

http://downloadzone.org/lp/superantispyware/MTE0MTA3NjEzM181MmMyM2FiOGMzZmNi/?kw=superantispyware

http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download

also; see if you can reinstall that same program; and then do a uninstall a second time; but remember you need to make sure you do this with administrative rights.

Piojoa7x,

Thank you for starting your own topic.

ScorpionSaver / Adpeak is a pain...

Let's use the following program to find out where Scorpionsaver / Adpeak is hiding...

Please use the tool Zoek:
Download > Download zoek.exe version 5.0.0.0

If your AntiVirus warns you about the program, either allow Zoek to run, or temporarily disable your AV program.
Info on how to disable your security applications > How To Temporarily Disable Your Anti-virus, Firewall And Anti-malware Programs - Security Mini-Guides

Double-click zoek.exe to start the program. (Give it a few seconds to appear.)
Next, copy and then paste the entire script in the code box below to the input field of Zoek (do not copy the word 'code'):

Code:
createsrpoint;
process;
filesrcm;
startupall;
installedprogs;
installer-list;
uninstall-list;
hijackthis;
firefoxlook;
chromelook;
srinfo;
DIR /S /A:L "%systemdrive%\*">>"%temp%\log.txt";b

Note: This script is written only for use on this computer. Please do not use it on another computer even if the problems are similar!

Now...
  • Close any open browsers.
  • Click the Run script button and wait. It takes a few minutes to run all the script.
  • If a reboot is needed the log is opened after the reboot.
  • When finished, the zoek-results.log is opened in Notepad.
  • The log is also found on the systemdrive, normally C:\
>> Please post the zoek-results.log in your reply.

Another one that can come in handy!

Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
  • Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
  • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista, 7, or 8; instead of double-clicking, right-mouse click JRT.exe and select "Run as Administrator".
  • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
  • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
  • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
  • Post the contents of JRT.txt into your next message.
download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save to your Desktop.

  • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
    Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As Administrator.
  • Click on the Scan button.
  • AdwCleaner will begin...be patient as the scan may take some time to complete.
  • After the scan has finished, click on the Report button...a logfile (AdwCleaner[R#].txt) will open in Notepad for review (where the largest value of # represents the most recent report).
  • The contents of the log file may be confusing. Unless you see a program name that you know should not be removed, don't worry about it. If you see an entry you want to keep, let me know about it.
  • Copy and paste the contents of that logfile in your next reply.
  • A copy of all logfiles are saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder which was created when running the tool.
Using AdwCleaner v3: Scan & Clean:
Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool again.
Click on the Scan button.
AdwCleaner will begin to scan your computer like it did before.
After the scan has finished...

This time click on the Clean button.
Press OK when asked to close all programs and follow the onscreen prompts.
Press OK again to allow AdwCleaner to restart the computer and complete the removal process.
After rebooting, a logfile report (AdwCleaner[S#].txt) will open automatically (where the largest value of # represents the most recent report).
Copy and paste the contents of that logfile in your next reply.
A copy of that logfile will also be saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder

download TFC by Old Timer TFC - Temp File Cleaner by OldTimer - Geeks to Go Forums and save it to your desktop.
Save any unsaved work. TFC will close ALL open programs including your browser!
Double-click on TFC.exe to run it. If you are using Vista/Windows 7 right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator.
Click the Start button to begin the cleaning process and let it run uninterrupted to completion.
Important! If TFC prompts you to reboot, please do so immediately. If not prompted, manually reboot the machine anyway to ensure a complete clean.

Piojoa7x,

Thanks for providing the report. Attaching them is fine.

Are you showing as connected, but cannot use your Firefox browser?
Do you also use Chrome?

Try the following...

Please go to Start and type command in the Search programs and files box above it.

In the Programs list that appears, right-click on the black Command Prompt, and select: Run as Administrator

At the Command Prompt, type the following commands (or copy/paste with the mouse), one at a time, and press Enter after each:

netsh int ip reset reset.txt

netsh winsock reset

See if you can use your browser.

Hold off on anything else. If you have your connection back, you do not want to re-acquire ScorpionSaver.

At first glance, I see where there are some entries in play with ScorpionSaver, and its originator.
Need to take a better look, and will get back with you later...it will be this evening.

Thanks for your patience.

Cottonball,

My computer is showing internet connection, but cannot use my Firefox browser or Internet explorer. I dont use chrome.

I use the Command Prompt method and restarted the computer because it stated to do so.
After the computer restarted, I tried my Firefox and it worked!:)

Do I still try the Zoek method you stated after?

This is a vulnerability you cannot afford to have:
>> Java version out of date!
Please verify the version of Java you have installed.
If your version of Java is outdated, it needs to be updated.
When done, uninstall older versions.

Any more problems with ScorpionSaver?

I have Java Version 7. This is the latest version according to my updater.

I haven't had any problems with the ScorpionSaver. It doesn't appear on my programs list. Loos like its gone.

When my computer starts up, I get the following error message:

There was a problem starting

c:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Conduit\BackgroundContainer\BackgroundContainer.dll

The specified module could not be found.
