Hi...Searched for similar problem but mine is a bit different then the ones I found...
My OS is windows 7 x 64 bit, AMD-Asrock 890 Deluxe4 motherboard, and Sharkoon X-Tatic Pro Gaming Headset
Sharkoon X-Tatic Pro Gaming Headset Review :: TweakTown USA Edition
I am running the headset on optical settings...
My problem I am having is my mic boost slider is missing
have the latest realtek drivers...The mic works but the volume is very low...need to edit the registry accouding to the posts I looked at but mic boost is not in the location
where the posts point too. I can't post the my path because I am at work and the problem is on my Desktop which is at the house...However here is a trend I look at...
Mappings are saved in the following location "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0000\Settings\DevType_0888_SS147b1083 or ending in DevType_0885_SS18490890
There is Settings in this loacation of my registry...
Here is the Trend...

Well...Don't know what is going on but since I posted for help I allways turn off my PC when I'm not home because it's water cooled so I must have booted it over ten times but this morning the mic boost showed up all on it's own...
Guess I got an early Christmas present...if it don't disappear as it appeard on it's own I'm good to go...

Since its working, create a System Restore point. Then if it goes out again, you can restore the PC back to the System Restore point and get it back.

That's about all I can tell you. I saw the original post but didn't have any suggestions.
