Solved No Mouse or Keyboard at Windows Login

Greetings.
I just installed a new cpu cooler and, upon booting up the machine, find I have no mouse or keyboard support.
- Both are plugged in to the USB ports on the motherboard itself.
- I have the use of my mouse in BIOS.
Any idea what the problem could be?

can you confirm if you have use of keyboard in BIOS? Are keyboard/mouse USB 2 or USB 1.1 devices? Are they wired or wireless?

I did. Both mouse and keyboard were working in BIOS but not at windows login. I managed to log in using the on screen keyboard. After which I was able to get windows to recognize the KB by plugging it into different USB ports. Eventually it realized it had a keyboard and carried on.

How did you login using on-screen keyboard without access to mouse or keyboard at login page? Just curious in case it happens to me.
