the actual device manager is not showing the second card..

you've enabled SLI in NV Control panel right??

maybe it is the driver. Try a reinstall. or even a vista driver and see if it see's it.

Another thing is try shutting down. pulling one out. restarting. and then powering down and re-installing it. see if it will see new hardware detected on startup

No the NV CP doesnt see it either.

i tried removing the card and rebooting, then reinstalling the card and rebooting. no change. i reinstalled the drivers. no change. I swapped the cards, in case one died. it works. the mobo sees it. it comes up in the post. its like its not there in windows...

When swapping the card did you move the card from one slot into another slot or did you just remove one card ?

Just wondering if you checked the actual slot on the motherboard.

Test that both cards work in either slot on the motherboard, instead of just checking if both cards work in one slot on the motherboard, if you have not already.

So you would have 4 tests.
Card 1 in slot one.
Card 1 in slot two. Would know at this point if the slot was bad.
Card 2 in slot one
Card 2 in slot two.

earlier builds had more of a Vista base/kernel... versus RC builds tend to have more of its own base/kernel which may be a major reason why the nvidia drivers are not allowing it to work anymore.

its odd that it doesnt show in the device manager.

its been nagging at me. I'm concerned that i don't read about others with this issue. makes me think there's something at my end. The install is only two weeks old. i might format and start again. i dont want to. if no one comes to help with some suggestions, that might be my only option.

Win 7 Build 7100 SLI Problem

I have 2 6800GT GPUs in a Asus P5ND MB
in XP SLI works fine
in Win 7 beta & RC1 the 2nd card is detected and shown in Device Mgr & NV CP, but I do not see any option to enable SLI mode.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Rich
