no sound coming from my laptop

Hi,

Suddenly sound in my laptop has gone.

I checked volume in control panel along with the sound drivers. All seems okay to me. Can anyone suggest what should I do to resolve this issue?

Hello nitingoyal did you try the sound volume icon on the right hand side of the taskbar?

yes, I have tried that.
It is neither on mute nor the volume is less. Volume is maximized in that icon

Hum do your headphones or an add on sound system work?

The headphones should employ a simple cut out switch for the internal speakers and if they do not work then there is something wrong internally.

although when ever i play any audio/video file, audio lines keeps on bouncing up and down in volume control but they just don't come out
