No sounds at all in Windows 7

All:
For some strange reason, no sounds (system or otherwise) occur when I turn on my Windows 7 HP-PC. After I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7, everything seemed fine; but now, there are no sounds. It's a dual boot PC; so, my speakers work with Linux.
I have tried every suggestion I have seen in these forums. Any suggestions?
