Having just had en error where I get 'non nsystem disk' message (now solved, I discovered in the process that there were no system restore points since January. I have been in task scheduler and it is set to create one on boot and one at midnight, so can anyone tell me why its not creating them?

In no way am I expert but I've had this happen. There's a check box to show more restore points. Just in case you haven't checked that, I thought I'd mention it. Good luck!

Apparently a variable. Supposed to be cable modem speed.

I use Outlook and have put a note on the appointments to remind me to make a restore point every Wednesday. Windows should also make one when ever a Update is installed.

The first thing to check is that the "Volume Shadow Copy" service is running and set to Automatic.

Have you made and changes to your computer since January? Particularly changes to your hard drive(s) setup.
How much free space is there on the C drive?
How much space is allocated for restore points in the System Restore settings?
