Hi,

New to the forums, though I've been coming here for years when searching for various Windows problems.

First, I tried downloading the "DM Log Collector" before posting, but keep getting an error on that page and it won't display.

But, here's my question/problem. I'm working with an older ThinkCentre, Windows 7 Pro x64, 2gb. The system had been running fine till a week ago. Suddenly it started coming up with a "No Operating System Found" message while sitting at the desktop.

The system boots fine, and I can run commands, utilities, and programs, but if it sits at the desktop for 5-30 minutes it will suddenly come up with that message and require a reboot.

I've run "chkdsk c: /f /r" multiple times, and everything checks out. Under drive management, the system partition is active and healthy, and the drive partition is healthy. Everything in BIOS looks good.

Basically, everything checks out good for all standard tests. And as I said, it boots fine with no issues to the desktop. The error doesn't seem to happen when performing any function on the system, only when sitting idle at the desktop. I've fixed a lot of BSOD's over the years, but this is different.

Just wondered if anyone else has ever run into this, I couldn't find anything searching.

Thanks...

Hi David,

I have checked the Event Viewer, but saw nothing unusual. I'm familiar with MS-SPM, but hadn't tried that yet. I'll try it and see what it might show me. Thanks...
