I had Foxit Cloud too on the last update and if I recall it was listed separately in Programs and Features and I uninstalled it.

I'm not sure when Foxit Cloud was introduced (v6.0.0.xxxx?).

It was a separate (automatically) installed program.
Foxit said on their forum that you could simply uninstall it.

On my PC:

• Uninstalling Foxit Cloud broke the updater
• It seems that issue was fixed in v6.2.0.0429

W7's Market Share Increases Again

According to data from Net Market Share, Windows XP actually gained market share last month, and Windows 8 as a whole lost some users.

Things don't seem to be going well for Microsoft -- at least not in the Windows operating system department. According to the latest data from Net Market Share, Windows 8 as a whole (merging Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 together) declined slightly, while Windows XP -- an OS that officially expired almost three months ago -- gained market share. What's going on here?

I don't think so.

If people had windows 7 professional (most businesses) they would also get xp mode. This might explain slightly the rise of xp.

It's not based on sales, and Net Market Share has no way to determine how many people installed Windows XP or replaced Windows 8 with some other operating system in a given month.

All Net Market Share is reporting is, for the past month, an increase in Windows XP systems visiting the sites it monitors and a decline in Windows 8 systems. Taking a closer look at the data, the increase in Windows XP is only four hundredths of a percentage point -- from 25.27% in May to 25.31% in June. In other words, the "gain" makes for a nice, sensational headline, but it amounts essentially to a rounding error. It would be fair to say that Windows XP was stagnant, which in and of itself says something because an expired OS shouldn't just be declining -- it should be in free fall mode.

I still find it odd, XP mode is also now no longer supported as an OS.
Those figure are very volatile and change daily, that was a snapshot at the moment.

True but since its virtual, it does not matter as much as running it natively is a greater risk than virtually.

The risk is the same, it's just that using a virtualized XP it's easier to use various Undo Disk / Snapshot features to restore the system easy and fast when the slightest doubt exists.

The risk is the same in terms of the os can be infected, yes, but affecting the host is what I meant.

It is much safer to run questionable things in a vm vs the host even though there are a few threats out there that know when they are being ran virtualized.

Hi there

Windows 7 is very poor for TOUCH - so if you use the newer devices like touch screens / convertible type laptops and / or surface Pro 2 / surface pro3 then W7 doesn't make sense.

I find also displaying VIDEO via WI-FI to a remote device such as the office / conference room smart TV / projector also a great help -- less cables etc - especially when several people want also to display stuff at the same meeting --unplugging / re-plugging HDMI / VGA cables etc --"Dinosaur Technology" !!.

W7 also not good at that either.

In Tablet Mode I find touch far more useful than I would ever have thought initially - especially when giving demos / presentations in busy corporate meetings etc.

Obviously touch on a single huge external expensive LCD / Plasma monitor is NOT good or practicable unless your arms are at least 2.0 m long but there are a lot of cases now where I find touch quite an advantage.

Retro fitting decent Touch to W7 or Wi-Fi Video probably isn't in Ms's future plans.

W7 is still fine for people using older classic devices - but for newer technology you really need to change to a more modern OS.

I always thought windows 7 worked well for touch. It was designed for that after all. That is why the taskbar buttons are big by default, and why jump lists were created. If you swipe up on an app in the taskbar, it loads the jump list.
