Hello Everyone!

Just trying to install visual studio 2015 and uninstall it. But the setup gives error stating that it's not able to install the Windows Software Development Kit 10.0.26624 !

Sensing that there seems to be some corruption in that particular sdk (10.0.26624), I tried uninstalling all the SDK's from the programs menu in the control panel, but was NOT able to uninstall the above one (10.0.26624). It gave me the following error/s (please refer to the attached screens). I am also including the uninstall log file below. Would appreciate any help so that I can solve this issue.

Windows Software Development Kit 10.0.26624 is the Windows 10 SDK, and will most likely not install on Windows 7, especially a 32 bit install like you have (at least according to your meager system specs).

The reason that it won't uninstall is likely that it only partially installed, put entries into the registry saying that it is installed, but it lacks the uninstall files necessary to do the uninstall properly. This can happen with almost any failed install. There is not much you can do about it other than go to the folder where Windows copied the files and manually delete it. You'll have to live with the entry in Programs and Features, unless you use a registry cleaner to rid yourself of the registry entries.

What I don't understand is why Visual Studio tried to install the SDK in the first place, since it is (highly likely) incompatible with 32 bit Win 7. It should have detected your OS version and skipped that part of the install if it was incompatible.

EDIT:

I should note that I do have the Windows 10 SDK installed on my Win 7 machine, and it was installed by Visual Studio, however, my version is an older one, and I am running 64 bit Windows. With the Win 10 Creator's Update, perhaps the new SDK is not compatible anymore. Windows Update has not upgraded my SDK at all since it was installed last year. I am not willing to risk borking it by installing a new version for an OS that I don't use on this machine. I will install it on my Win 10 installation.
