Not able to use all 4GB of ram

32 bit=impossible
64 bit=possible

It is not impossible. 32bit can access up to 4 GB it can see more and access more then 3.5 GB or whatever. The problem lies in the hardware taking up the last end of RAM or artificially adding to it. Graphic card with lots of onboard memory, etc.

I've never had a pc with PCI-E so I don't know but perhaps there is a similar setting as AGP Aperature size coming into play here?

Hey, I have a similiar problem. While checking bcdedit, I noticed "Truncate memory 0x100000000" Truncate meaning shorten, FYI. HELP??! Oh and I have 4GB's of Ram, 3.46 of which is useful. I got a intel gm45, intel dual "EDIT: pentium" processor, windows 7 64 bit. Thanks

If i put 64bit back on how will that help me get 4GB usable wen it hasnt done b4 as its alot of hassle reinstalling everything if its just gona be the same as it was

I'm running Windows 7 x64 and have 4gb usable. There's a reason why you were not seeing 4gb usable when you ran x64, but to figure it out you would have to reload it. The point is when you run x64 the problem is not caused by a limitation of the OS.

You won't get that full 4 GB odf memory, even in 64 bit Windows 7, if your motherboard and chipset don't support the memory remap feature (which will map your video memory above 4GB in virtual memory). This is a BIOS setting on most motherboards. If there is no such BIOS setting on your computer, you are SOL.

What make/model is your computer and what chipset does it use (the former may be enough info for me to help).
